The Role: Applied AI Engineer
We are looking for a driven backend-focused engineer with a passion for AI to join our early engineering team. You'll take ownership of the services, pipelines, and infrastructure that power our AI Admin and customer-facing products.
This isn't just another backend role. You'll be architecting the foundation for AI agents that handle complex, multi-step workflows. You'll build the infrastructure that allows our AI to understand enterprise context, execute changes safely, and scale to handle billions in transaction value.

You will
- Design, build, and own Python microservices that power new AI Agents to automate the ownership of Salesforce
- Create and optimize data pipelines (Prefect) and vector/NoSQL/SQL databases that feed our LLM-based products
- Champion scalability, observability, and automated testing to keep Swantide reliable as we grow
- Drive projects from zero to production
- Collaborate with product, design, and customer-success teams to ship features end-to-end and unblock customers quickly
- Participate in an on-call rotation, triaging and resolving production issues
- Contribute to our GCP/Kubernetes infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines as bandwidth and interest allow
You have
- 4+ years of professional software-engineering experience with a focus on backend systems
- A passion and curiosity for cutting edge AI, you're reading the latest blogs and posts about best practices and what the best companies are doing to push the boundaries of building agents
- Strong desire to build solutions for customers that make their life better
- Proven track record of building and operating cloud-native microservices in Python
- Hands-on experience with at least two of: MongoDB, Postgres/SQL, vector databases
- Solid understanding of system design & scale, trade-offs, and performance tuning
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment
- Attention to detail and an attitude of ownership over the product and code you produce
Nice to have but not necessary
- Experience building AI Agents and/or products on top of enterprise grade models
- Familiarity with modern data-pipeline frameworks and distributed messaging/queueing
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP, or other cloud-infra tooling
- Exposure to SRE/observability best practices
- Exposure to TypeScript/React for occasional full-stack projects
- Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM ecosystems
